October 20 - Defensive Powerhouse Angle

Defense wins championships. More than any other cliche in College Football, that statement seems to hold true. For sports handicappers, backing these defensive specialists can lead to some very profitable investments. Consider the following technical situation:

PLAY ON any college football home favorite of -25 or less if they allowed seven points or less in their last two games.

It's hard to believe that simple system has produced a respectable 119-77 ATS for 60.7 percent record since 1980. On Saturday's card there is one play locked into this profitable situation: Ohio State (-17) over Michigan State.

Within every college system that I own, there are usually a couple of tighteners that make certain sets better than others. My Defensive Powerhouse Angle is no different. Consider this: If our host is matched up against a conference opponent, this situation improves to a spectacular 86-51 ATS for 62.7 percent. The Buckeyes still apply.

Let's take that 62.7 percent tightener a couple of steps further. If our host is matched up against a foe that arrives off a straight up victory, this Defensive Powerhouse Angle tightens up beautifully to a blistering 55-28 ATS for 66.2 percent including 36-15 ATS for 70.5 percent provided our host is going into revenge. Ohio State fits all the tighteners and will carry the freight as my System Play of the Week. Good luck with the Buckeyes this weekend.
