NBA Power Rankings - The Key To NBA Betting That Wins

Author: MasterBets - Wednesday, November 16, 2005

So you'd like to pick 78% winners in the NBA, DOCUMENTED and archived for the world to see. You could simply buy your picks every day from MasterBets, that's the no-hassle, economical option, but if you fancy yourself an NBA 'capper the first order of business (or bidness as they might say in the NBA) is to assemble your own power rankings.

Here are our views after the first few weeks of the season. This isn't a comprehensive ranking of every team - after all, we can't be giving away all our secrets gratis, but there are a few teams worth following, and a few teams worth betting against.

TOP 10 TEAMS:

Only a fool would underestimate the Pistons, Pacers, and Cavaliers when they play at home in the East. Indiana have a lot of home games coming up soon, and they're good value to cover most of them.

Western conference gets weaker every year - with the exception of the Spurs, who are far and away the best team in the league. They don't bring it every game, because they're pacing themselves to win it all. There will be lapses, especially on the road, but they are too good not to crush the weakies. Dallas and Phoenix will win a lot of regular season games, and are the best of the rest.

SURPRISE TEAMS IN A GOOD WAY:

The 76ers can win a lot of games out East. Chicago and New Jersey are both useful. Out West you need to focus on the Warriors and the Jazz, because both of these teams will make the playoffs this year. The Jazz are also a sleeper team.

Teams that will underperform, and this is from a BETTING point of view, include the Heat, the Lakers, and the Kings (when they are on the road).
br> THE BOTTOM 10:

The Raptors are so bad they almost resemble the Hawks. The two worst teams in the NBA by a distance. The Hornets and the SuperSonics are going to be battered by a lot of other teams. The Knicks are not going anywhere good in a hurry either.
