NFL Analysis - The Real Problem With The Eagles

Forget about the spat with TO, and the Chunky Soup commercials, the real problem with the Eagles, and the reason they cannot get it done this season, is McNabb. Or, to put it more clearly, McNabb's injuries, which prevent him from making decent throws. This is a QB whose greatest strength was his mobility, which in turn made him tough to defend. That's no longer a concern, in fact defenses can now force the Eagles to beat them through the air, stuffing their running game.
There is fantastic sports betting value in opposing the Eagles. This is no longer a playoff-calibre team, and their struggles in recent weeks confirm this opinion. They should be opposed, especially on the road.
When McNabb started the Monday Night game by running against the Cowboys it looked like things could get back to normal in Philly. But dare one say it, he ran out of steam in the 4th quarter, looking hurt, tired, ineffective, and ultimately he threw away the game, quite literally, with an awful pass to the Cowboys' Roy Williams.
McNabb is hurt, and our guess is he will "admit" to the seriousness of the injuries, only when the season is over and wasted. He will then say that he was never at more than 60% or some such number, and promise to be better in 2006. The Eagles should face this fact now and consider starting their back-up. It's a radical notion, but it sure beats losing to mediocre teams like the Cowboys and Redskins week in and week out.
