NCAA Tournament 2007

Tom Stryker's Round 2 NCAA Tournament Seed Information

Author: Tom Stryker - Saturday, March 17, 2007

March 17 - It's Round 2 of the Big Dance and the field is down to 32 teams. Before the NCAA Tournament started, you had a couple of days to rip apart the first round matchups and make your selections. That privilege doesn't exist after the first set of games are final. There is only one day between the first and second round and preparation is extremely important in order to make profitable decisions.

One thing you won't have to wonder about is how one seed does against another in the second round of the tournament. Thanks to my high-octane college basketball database, I've already done that work for you. Take a look at the seed information. There are some interesting and money-making results.

NCAA TOURNAMENT ROUND 2 SEED INFORMATION
Overall Seed Results
No. 1 Seed - 55-9 SU and 31-33 ATS
No. 2 Seed - 38-21 SU and 33-26-1 ATS
No. 3 Seed - 34-22 SU and 31-24-1 ATS
No. 4 Seed - 32-19 SU and 25-26 ATS
No. 5 Seed - 19-22 SU and 18-22-1 ATS
No. 6 Seed - 24-22 SU and 25-20-1 ATS
No. 7 Seed - 10-24 SU and 11-22-1 ATS
No. 8 Seed - 6-24 SU and 20-10 ATS
No. 9 Seed - 3-31 SU and 13-21 ATS
No. 10 Seed - 15-14 SU and 18-11 ATS
No. 11 Seed - 5-12 SU and 5-12 ATS
No. 12 Seed - 10-13 SU and 16-7 ATS
No. 13 Seed - 3-10 SU and 4-8-1 ATS
No. 14 Seed - 1-8 SU and 2-7 ATS
No. 15 Seed - 0-4 SU and 1-3 ATS

Seed vs Seed Results
Please note: The SU and ATS record is for the higher seeded team.
No. 1 vs No. 8 - 24-6 SU and 10-20 ATS
No. 1 vs No. 9 - 31-3 SU and 21-13 ATS
No. 2 vs No. 7 - 24-9 SU and 22-10-1 ATS
No. 2 vs No. 10 - 14-12 SU and 10-16 ATS
No. 3 vs No. 6 - 21-19 SU and 18-21-1 ATS
No. 3 vs No. 11 - 12-3 SU and 12-3 ATS
No. 4 vs No. 5 - 20-13 SU and 19-14 ATS
No. 4 vs No. 12 - 12-6 SU and 12-6 ATS
No. 5 vs No. 13 - 6-2 SU and 4-3-1 ATS
No. 6 vs No. 14 - 6-1 SU and 5-2 ATS
No. 7 vs No. 15 - 1-0 SU and 1-0 ATS
No. 10 vs No. 15 - 3-0 SU and 2-1 ATS
No. 11 vs No. 14 - 2-0 SU and 2-0 ATS
No. 12 vs No. 13 - 4-1 SU and 4-1 ATS

As you can see from the records listed above, No. 7 seeds, No. 9 seeds, No. 11 seeds and teams seeded 13-15 have done poorly in Round 2. Meanwhile, No. 3 seeds, No. 8 seeds, No. 10 seeds and No. 12 seeds have banged the cash register in phase two of the Big Dance.

In just about every possible matchup except for the No. 3 seed vs the No. 6 seed, there is a profitable record in the Seed vs Seed Results.

Good luck in Round 2 of the NCAA Tournament and be sure to check back next week when I take an inside look at the Sweet 16 Round. Thank you and best of luck, Tom Stryker.
