Sport: College FootballPick Selection: Northern Illinois
At 4 pm, our selection is on the Northern Illinois Huskies over Toledo. Last week, the Rockets took the bus 44 miles north to Ann Arbor, and upset their Michigan neighbors 13-10 for perhaps the biggest win in Toledo's history. The Rockets were an underdog of more than two touchdowns in that game, which, in retrospect, was an overlay, as Rich Rodriguez' Wolverines are an awful ballclub. Off that upset win, Toledo now falls into negative systems of mine that are 23-80, 88-158, and 7-51 ATS. Notwithstanding its win at Michigan last week, Toledo has still been awful as road underdogs (or small faves of -3 or less) since coming onto the "Vegas Board," going 11-24 ATS since 1998. And if Toledo is off a SU win, then our 11-24 stat deteriorates to 4-15 ATS. Northern Illinois failed to cover in its 17-13 win over Miami-Ohio last week, but that was the first ATS loss for the Huskies this year, and snapped a 7-game ATS winning streak dating back to last season. Look for the Huskies to get back on the winning track this Saturday. College Football "Roadkill of the Year" on Northern Illinois. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie.
