#541 MARSHALL (-) over Tulane by 9 at 7 PM EST
If you don't think the Thundering Herd are elated about this conference tournament matchup, then you must not follow college basketball at all. Back on February 4th, Marshall (+3) visited Tulane and got rocked 61-36. The Herd's 36 points was their lowest total since a 41-23 loss to San Diego State back in the 1947-48 season. Rest assured, Marshall wants this game badly.
According to my college basketball database, the Herd owns a brilliant 9-1 SU and 7-2-1 ATS when favored and playing with same season single revenge. That's the good news. Here's the great news. Since 1995, in the donkey round or play-in round, the No. 9 seed owns a profitable 46-32 ATS mark when matched up against the No. 8 seed. If the No. 8 seed enters off a straight up win or a loss of 10 points or less, this situation improves to 29-19 ATS. There are a couple other parameters that bring this system to 11-1 ATS but those will remain for my eyes only.
Since January of 2002, Tulane has struggled against the spread posting a soft 45-60-3 ATS record. In this role coming off a straight up loss and going into revenge, the Green Wave are a dismal 17-26-1 ATS.
The Thundering Herd got smoked the last time they faced the Wave. This time around things will be different. Take MARSHALL. Thank you and best of luck, Tom Stryker.
