Sport: College HoopsPick Selection: Boise State, Maryland and Iowa State
Our 3 selections include Maryland, Iowa State and Boise State.
Maryland -- At 2 pm, our selection is on the Maryland Terrapins minus the points over Clemson, as Maryland is a perfect 8-0 ATS at home, since February 1998, after losing straight-up as a favorite in its previous game. The Terps lost 63-58 vs. Miami (as a 16-point favorite) earlier this week, but will rebound to hand Clemson its first loss of the year. Maryland has won 12 of the last 15 games at home vs. the Tigers, and we'll lay the short number here today.
Iowa State -- At 2 pm, our selection is on the Iowa State Cyclones over Kansas, as ISU falls into a system of mine that's a perfect 10-0 ATS since 1990. What we want to do is play on any home dog of 11+ points, at Game 10 of the season or later, that's off back to back wins and covers, if it's matched up against a foe with a win percentage less than .900 that's also off back to back wins. Iowa State has opened up this year's Big 12 schedule with back to back upset wins over Missouri and Nebraska, and look to make it 3 in a row today. With ISU 21-7 ATS as a double digit dog since 1998, and 13-5 ATS vs. Kansas, we'll grab the points with Greg McDermott's Cyclones on this Saturday afternoon.
Boise State -- At 9 pm, our selection is on the Boise State Broncos minus the points over New Mexico State as Boise falls into a system of mine that is 72-30 ATS which involves playing on certain home teams off a SU/ATS win when matched up against a .900 (or worse) foe off 5+ wins. Also, Boise is a perfect 8-0 ATS vs. teams who have a shooting percentage of 48% or higher (New Mexico St has a 50.6% FG Pct). Boise is a perfect 7-0 SU at home this year while New Mexico St is just 3-3 on the road (compared to 10-0 at home). Look for Boise to snap N.M. State's 13-game win streak tonight. Lay the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. And don't miss my first College Basketball Conference Game of the Year today.
