Try not to read into Purdue's recent good fortune. Yes, the Boilermakers are on a nifty 4-0 SU and ATS run. But, the four schools "the Due" just whipped were creampuffs. The Boilers steamrolled Northwestern (twice), knocked off a weak Minnesota team and then ran past a mediocre Iowa bunch. Ohio State will be an entirely different beast.
Technically speaking, Purdue is locked into a nasty "play against" set. Take a look. Dating back to 1990, sub .700 conference tournament teams seeded No. 5 or higher and playing with same season double revenge are a shocking 0-12 SU and ATS provided they are off back-to-back straight up wins including a tournament victory in which they won by 15 or more and beat the line by 15 points or more. Please note: Those 12 losses have come by an average of 15.2 points per game! The Boilermakers fit this wallet-busting angle perfectly.
To make matters worse, Purdue is just 1-13 SU and 1-12-1 ATS in this series and a pathetic 12-21 ATS coming off three or more pointspread wins. OSU is playing for a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament and they need to take care of business here. Take Ohio State. Thank you and best of luck, Tom Stryker.
