Sport: College HoopsPick Selection: Utah Utes, Oklahoma Sooners, and Georgia Bulldogs
Our 3 selections are Oklahoma, Georgia and Utah.
At 8:30 pm, our selection is on the Utah Utes minus the points over UNLV. The Rebels have won five straight games, and have covered three in a row, but now fall into a negative 14-41 ATS system of mine that plays AGAINST certain road teams off 5+ wins, and 3+ covers. Last year, UNLV won the quarterfinal round of the Mountain West Tournament against Utah, but UNLV had the benefit of playing that Tourney game at home in Las Vegas. At Utah, the Rebels have not had much success, and have won just two of their previous nine games and are 0-5 as an underdog of +8 or less. Take Utah.
At 7:30 pm, our selection is on the Georgia Bulldogs minus the points over Vanderbilt. Georgia has lost its last 3 games (both SU and ATS) to fall to 11-8 on the season. A lot of folks will shy away from playing the Bulldogs here tonight, but not me, as I have a super 65% ATS system that plays on certain winning teams at home off 3 SU/ATS losses, if they're matched up against a foe that's not off back-to-back losses. The Commodores have a good record at 18-4, but started the season with 16 straight wins. Since then, they're a meager 2-4. And, of their first 16 victories, all but two of them came at home. Since starting Conference play, Vandy is an awful 0-4 on the road, with three of those defeats by more than 15 points! Take the Bulldogs.
At 7 pm, our selection is on the Oklahoma Sooners minus the points over Texas. The Sooners lost both meetings to Texas last season, but when favored, or getting less than 6 points, Oklahoma has dominated the Longhorns, going 21-6 SU and 18-8-1 ATS since 1990. The Sooners have played a tough schedule this season, and have had forward Blake Griffin back in the lineup for the last three games. Oklahoma has won two of them, including an upset of then-No. 25 ranked Baylor. In that game, the Sooner freshman scored 17 points and pulled down 15 rebounds, in just 22 minutes. Then, in his next game, a 64-61 win over Okie State, Griffin converted the go-ahead three-point play in the game's final minute. The Sooners have played better at home this year, than on the road, going 10-2 at Lloyd Noble Center (shooting just under 50%), compared to a 5-4 road record (where the Sooners are shooting 43%). Oklahoma has already notched impressive wins against Gonzaga, West Virginia, Arkansas and Baylor. Texas, meanwhile, is struggling away from home, as it has dropped three of its last four road games (at Michigan State, Missouri and Texas A&M). Lay the small number with the Sooners. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. And don't miss my big NBA Winner tonight, as we go for our 5th straight winning NBA Package.
