VCU got drilled by George Mason at the Patriot Center in its last game falling by the score of 68-51. Rest assured, the Rams will get healthy in a hurry against Towson State.
The fact that this CAA game is being played in the Alltel Pavilion at the Stuart C. Siegel Center is huge. VCU is a perfect 9-0 SU at home this season and stands a jaw-dropping 65-10 SU in its own backyard in conference play. Equally impressive, the Rams stand 26-14-1 ATS at home coming off a straight up loss including a blistering 14-4-1 ATS in this set off a blemish of 10 points or more. With those two parameters applied and VCU off an ATS loss of seven points or more as well, this team trend moves to a nearly perfect 11-1 ATS!
The history book favors the Rams too. Dating back to 1990, VCU is a tremendous 12-1 SU and 8-5 ATS in this series and the Rams have completely dominated the Tigers in Richmond. In the Alltel Pavilion, VCU is a perfect 6-0 SU versus Towson State and has won by margins of 23, 37, 25, 23, six and eight points respectively. That's an average victory margin of 20.3 points per game!
Statistically speaking, the Rams are ranked first in the CAA in scoring defense (59.3 ppg), field-goal defense (.382) and 3-point defense (.260).
