Sport: MLBPick Selection: 'over'
At 8:10pm our complimentary selection is on the Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Cards 'over' the total. So exactly what kind of ballpark is the "New Busch Stadium" going to be? Well so far there have only been six games played there and they have been against two teams with some definite run-scoring potential in the Brewers and Reds and the scores have reflected that. In the six games, a total of 56 runs have been scored, or better than 9 runs per game. But this could be due to more than just Albert Pujols, Carlos Lee, and Adam Dunn. A little known fact about the new venue is that the site actually slopes downward from the home plate corner to the area beyond the outfield in order to give the majority of spectators a better view of the Gateway Arch and other panoramic sights. Now the organization and the folks who built the park would probably say that the field overall is level but who's to say? All I know is that it seems to be emerging as anything other than a pitcher's ballpark, and the way both of these clubs are hitting, I think runs will be easy to come by. Take the 'over'. As always, good luck...Al McMordie.
