#922 NEW YORK YANKEES at 7:05 PM EST
Lock in pitcher: Randy Johnson
Off Thursday's 9-3 home loss to rival Boston, New York will respond with the Big Unit on the mound.
Quietly, the Pinstripes have been on a nice run. New York hasn't dropped back-to-back games since May 21st and 22nd! That streak will stay in tact with Randy Johnson back in good form. In his last three trips to the hill, New York (as a team) is a perfect 3-0 and RJ has surrendered just nine earned runs in 18.1 innings for a respectable 1.200 WHIP. The Big Unit has fanned 20 batters in that time frame as well.
Oakland's Dan Haren pitched well in his last start allowing no earned runs and only three hits in six innings of work at home versus Minnesota. Unfortunately, the last time Haren pitched at Yankee Stadium, which was back on May 14th, he threw a gem giving up only one earned run and six hits in nine innings of work. It will be nearly impossible for Haren to repeat that performance here.
According to the numbers, New York is 17-7 in its last 24 versus Oakland and 30-15 as a favorite while the A's are a miserable 8-16 in their last 24 as an underdog. Take NEW YORK. Thank you and best of luck, Tom Stryker.
