Sport: MLBPick Selection: Brewers/Cubs: Brewers
I'm playing on MILWAUKEE. The Brewers lost yesterday. However, that was due to an improbable Cubs rally in the bottom of the ninth inning and not due to them struggling against starter Rich Hill. Indeed, they scored five runs off the left-handed Hill in just three innings. Yesterday's loss notwithstanding, the Brewers are still 21-11 against teams from the Central and 17-10 vs. southpaws, averaging greater than five runs per game. Thats worth noting as the Brewers will face another left-hander today in Sean Marshall. Marshall has pitched very well in seven starts for the Cubs this season. Sheets has been at least as good though and he's been doing it for a lot longer. Indeed, the two-time All-Star is 4-0 with a 1.66 ERA in five June starts. Sheets has won five consecutive decisions for the first time since 2001, his rookie year. More impressively, he has allowed three runs or fewer in each of his past 13 starts and two earned runs or less in 10 of those starts. The Brewers have won seven of their last 12 visits to Wrigley. Look for Sheets to outduel Marshall this afternoon as the Brewers cool off their hosts and improve to 10-2 in Sheets' last 12 starts.
