**MLB BIG GAME ALERT** A.L. Underdog of the Month - 4/10/2008 8:10:00 PM

    Minnesota Twins (Hernandez) +133

**MLB BIG GAME ALERT** A.L. Underdog of the Month This is a big number for Chicago to be laying with a suspect pitcher going up against an offense that is gaining momentum. The Twins pounded out 12 runs last night and they have now averaged 5.2 rpg over their last six games after scoring four runs total in their first three games against the Angles. Over the last four games, their batting has improved each time out culminating with 13 hits on Wednesday. The win last night snapped a small two-game skid.

The White Sox were humming along with five straight wins as both pitching and hitting were coming along great. Last night, neither came through and I expect that to continue on. The team ERA jumped to 5.40 after John Danks was shelled after 2.1 innings of work. The bullpen logged some big innings as well and is likely going to be used again tonight if the expected happens. Going back to last season, the White Sox are 10-21 in their last 31 games following a loss.

Jose Contreras was dreadful in his first start this season but for some reason he is still getting pegged with a decent sized line. He allowed five runs in five innings against the Tigers while surrendering 10 hits and issuing four walks. He had trouble finding the strike zone all night as just 56 of his 92 pitches went for strikes. This comes as nothing new as going back to last season, he has allowed four runs or more in 15 of his last 21 starts, posting a horrendous 6.40 ERA.

The Twins counter with Livan Hernandez who has gotten off to a good start in his first stint in the American League. He pitched great against the Angels in his Twins debut and while he did allow four runs last time out against the Royals, the box was still strong. He did not allow a walk for the second straight game and that is big. He issues just five walks in the spring and in 14 total innings, he has thrown only 158 pitches. This is his first ever start against Chicago and that is a huge edge for the pitching. Play Minnesota Twins 3 Units
