We have absolutely no confidence in Arroyo and haven't since he was with the Red Sox - and have cashed in nicely on multiple occasions fading him since. We are back to do it again here tonight.
We have bet against Arroyo in every one of his starts this year and are 4-1 as a result. He is coming his worst start of the season too. Arroyo lasted just 3 2-3 innings on Wednesday against the Astros, allowing eight runs and 10 hits in a 9-3 loss. In 25 innings he has conceded 37 hits and has an ERA of 7.56. Arroyo is 3-5 with a 4.21 ERA in 12 career starts against the Cardinals. The right-hander is just 1-4 with a 5.59 ERA in seven starts in St. Louis.
The Cards are 10-5 this year at home and they played well against the Reds (11-15) last year, going 9-6 overall and 7-2 at home. The Cardinals are 10-5 at home this season. They counter with Wellemeyer who is 2-0 with a 3.77 ERA.
