Sport: MLBPick Selection: 'over', Phillies/Padres
At 7:05pm ET our selection is on the San Diego Padres and Philadelphia Phillies 'over' the total. Oft-injured lefthanded starter Randy Wolf finds himself on only his third Major League team in 10 years of pitching in the big leagues. After a one-year stint with the Dodgers in 2007, Wolf brings his risky arm and high strikeouts to San Diego, a place you would think would suit him well and give him a chance to improve on his stats in recent years which have been average at best. The Phils' 31 year-old righthander (and former Padre) Adam Eaton would probably give anything to have some "average" pitching numbers. Eaton's ERA the past four seasons has been 4.61, 4.27, 5.12, and 6.29. Eaton seems to be moving in the wrong direction lately, and the Phils are hoping this season he can turn things around. But so far, Eaton's season is beginning in familiar fashion, with no wins and an ERA over five runs. Even including Tuesday night's 4-2 final, in the last seven games played between these two teams, a total of 82 runs have been scored. The 'over' is 9-2 in San Diego's last eleven games vs. the NL East, and 6-3 in Phily's last nine overall. Take the 'over'. As always, good luck...Al McMordie. And don't miss my Kentucky Derby Winner on Saturday. It's available right now.
