San Francisco Giants (Lincecum) -140
**80% Pitching Mismatch of the Week** The Giants dropped Game Two of this series last night after grabbing the opener on Friday. It dropped San Francisco to 27-35 on the road however it is one of only four teams that has more wins on the road than at home. Granted the road record is nothing special but it is better than half of the other teams in baseball. This roadtrip has not been a good one as both pitching and hitting have been missing at the wrong times. The opportunity for both to return shows up today.
Atlanta snapped a five-game losing skid with the win last night and it clearly is not playing very well right now. Despite the win, their record to a dismal 3-11 over their last 14 home games and that was the only place they could win at one point. Starting pitching is become a problem as Atlanta has posted a 6.45 ERA from the starters over the last 10 games. Overall, the Braves have allowed 6.6 rpg over their last nine games and they are 9-23 in their last 32 games after scoring five runs or more in their previous game.
The main reason the pitching has a chance to shine on Sunday is because Tim Lincecum toes the rubber for the Giants. He has been outstanding all season long and after a couple of rough outings in mid-July, he settled down and has allowed two runs or fewer in four straight games, posting a 2.05 ERA over that span. That is the exact ERA he has on the road in 13 starts, where he is 8-1. He got a scare after getting hit in the knee last time out but he is fine. The Giants are 6-2 in his last eight starts against a team with a losing record.
The Braves counter with Charlie Morton who has turned things around to a degree but is still struggling a lot at times. He put together two straight quality outings but his last start was a disaster as he allowed four runs in just 2.1 innings. Control was an issue once again as he walked four bringing his season WHIP to 1.52. His numbers at home have been horrible ass he is 0-5 with a 9.00 ERA and 1.89 WHIP in six starts. He has allowed at least four runs in four of his last five and the Braves are 1-5 in his last six home starts. The take the series lead before Monday?s finale. Play San Francisco Giants 2.5 Units
