#709 DETROIT (-) over New Jersey by 18 at 7:35 PM EST
Off back-to-back straight up underdog road wins against the Lakers and Nuggets, I'll have no trouble fading the Nets in this contest.
One of my best NBA systems - 27-2 ATS for 93.1 percent - actually goes against New Jersey because of its back-to-back straight up underdog wins. There are a few additional parameters that make this technical situation pop but those will remain for my eyes only.
Detroit has performed very well in this series posting a strong 35-20 ATS record for 63.6 percent. In addition, as an Eastern Conference road favorite matched up against a foe that enters off a straight up win, the Pistons own a 41-9 SU and 31-18-1 ATS record including 20-6 ATS in that role if their opponent was an underdog of +3 points or more last.
New Jersey has really struggled priced as a home dog coming off a straight up underdog win notching a 7-26 SU and 9-24 ATS record including 2-14 SU and ATS in that role battling a foe that owns a won/loss percentage of .660 or better. With those two parameters applied and the Nets off a game in where they beat the pointspread by 18 points or less, this team trend crashes to a nasty 0-10 SU and ATS! New Jersey is stuck in that nasty "play against" situation.
The Pistons have enjoyed four full days of rest since their last game (and win) at Milwaukee. New Jersey is ripe for a beating and the defending Eastern Conference Champions will have no trouble administering exactly that. Take DETROIT. Thank you and best of luck, Tom Stryker.
