Detroit is playing some of the best basketball in the Eastern Conference and is looking more and more like the team that is going to snag the top spot. Since the acquisition of Chris Webber and the return of Chauncey Billups to the lineup which took place in the same game, the Pistons are 10-3 with two of those losses coming against the nemesis Wizards. Detroit has owned this series as it has swept the two-game set in each of the last three seasons and has won seven straight while taking the last five at The Palace.
It?s been a very difficult roadtrip for the Clippers which is really no surprise based on how they have played on the road this season. Los Angeles is 2-4 on this current trip to move to 8-18 on the road for the season. The two wins have been against Boston and Philadelphia which really does not say a lot. The Clippers are now 1-12 this season when scoring under 90 points and 0-13 on the road on the year when their opponent scores 100 or more points with both being a distinct possibility on Monday.
During their current six-game win streak, the Pistons have held four opponents to under 90 points and have scored 90 or more in every game. They are outscoring opponents by 12.2 ppg on 5.3 percent shooting while hitting 81.2 percent from the charity stripe. Detroit ranks second the NBA in assists-to-turnover at a ratio of 1.76. The Pistons also rank first in the NBA in fewest turnovers committed. The Clippers meanwhile are in the middle of pack in the league in both.
The Pistons fall into a very straightforward yet very profitable situation on Monday. Play on home favorites of 3.5 to 9.5 points off three or more consecutive home wins in the second half of the season. This situation is 30-7 ATS (81.1 percent) over the last five seasons and this will mark the first time it is in play this year.
