Sport: NBAPick Selection: Cavaliers
At 12:30 pm, on Sunday, our selection is on the Cleveland Cavaliers over Washington. This is a rematch of a 2006 playoff series (won by the Cavs in six games), but this series won't be as competitive as last year's. And that's because Washington is riddled with injuries to its two best players (Gilbert Arenas, Caron Butler). We'll play on Cleveland in Game 1, as the Cavs fall into a super system that's cashed 14 straight since 1990. What we want to do is play on any home team in Game 1 of the opening round, if it's off three or more wins, and does not have revenge against its foe, provided its foe also has a win percentage of .560 or less. The Cavs come into the playoffs on a red-hot roll, having won their last 4 games, while Washington stumbled down the stretch, losing eight of 10 (including a home loss to Cleveland on April 6) to finish with a 41-41 record. Take LeBron James & Co. to win Game 1 in blowout fashion. Good luck as always...Al McMordie. And don't miss my other basketball winners this weekend.
