NBA Pick

Thursday's **77.4% NBA System Smash of the Month** - 5/10/2007 9:00:00 PM

  • Sport: NBA
  • Pick Selection: Chicago Bulls -2 -110

  • Detroit Pistons at Chicago Bulls 9:00 PM ET

    Chicago Bulls -2 -110

It?s do or die for the Bulls as a loss in Game Three will virtually end the series as no team in league history has come back from a 3-0 deficit. The Bulls were the best home team in the Eastern Conference with a 31-10 record at the United Center and that will help their offensive woes that have hit the surface after two games. The Bulls are shooting 33 percent and averaging 78 ppg. This after the Bulls shot 46 percent and averaged 99.8 ppg in their series sweep of the Heat.

The backcourt needs to step up for Chicago as it has been completely dominated thus far. Ben Gordon, who has picked up early fouls in both games, is averaging 10 ppg in the first two games, 15.5 ppg fewer than he averaged in the Bulls' first-round sweep of the Miami Heat. Kirk Hinrich is at 8.5 ppg, 8.1 ppg fewer than his regular-season average. It doesn?t just end there as Luol Deng has struggled also. He has seen his scoring drop from 26.3 ppg against the Heat to 17 ppg against the Pistons.

Rebounding is also big as Chicago has been outboarded by close to 14 per game. Ben Wallace is questionable for tonight but all indications is that he was resting his back Wednesday in order to be more at full strength for tonight. Also important is the play of P.J. Brown. Brown has done nothing to help his team's cause. In both games against Detroit, he was on the bench with foul trouble early in the first quarter. A combination of everything will give Chicago new life.

The blowout loss at Detroit in Game Two sets us up for a big situational play on Thursday. Play on home teams against division opponents that are coming off a blowout loss by 20 points or more to a division rival. This situation is 24-7 ATS (77.4 percent) over the last five seasons. Chicago has been a very good team at rebounding from big losses sans Game One. The Bulls are 18-7 ATS after a blowout loss by 15 points or more over the last three seasons. Play Chicago Bulls 2 Units
