Seeing that San Antonio has won 17 straight meetings against Utah at home makes the Spurs the easy and obvious choice for this game. However that is not that case as Utah is in great position to get the cover this time around as well as possibly winning this one outright. Game One was a clear advantage for the Spurs as Utah was off for five days, hurting its momentum that was built from the end of the Rockets series and into the Warriors series. San Antonio went right back to work and it showed.

One of the strengths of the Jazz in their series against Golden State was getting the ball inside. Even though San Antonio is bigger than the Warriors, Utah still had success with 42 points in the paint and the Spurs got outrebounded 48-33 leaving some big concerns. The Spurs don't think they'll be as lucky if the same thing occurs tonight as they surrendered 21 offensive rebounds, which led to 26 points for the Jazz in the first game. A repeat of that could mean outright victory.

Moments of frustration led to some sniping among the Jazz players, and Utah coach Jerry Sloan later criticized his team for passing the blame and being intimidated. If that wasn?t a wake up call, nothing is and the Jazz will respond to being called out. Playoff basketball brings in a lot of situational information and there is loads of it favoring Utah. Conference final Game Two home teams are on a 6-15-2 ATS run and there have been no covers in the last 11 tries when the road team is an above average team, winning more than 67.5 percent of its games.

Play on road underdogs of 3.5 points or more in the playoffs going up against a team that covered two straight games as home favorites. This situation is 40-16 ATS (71.4 percent) over the last 10 seasons with the average point differential being just -1.2 ppg. Even though this game is near must win for the Jazz, the line did not move as would tend to go down in trhis situation.
