Sport: NBAPick Selection: Sonics/Hornets: UNDER
I'm playing on the Hornets and Sonics to finish UNDER the total. These teams have already met twice this season. The game at Seattle managed to sneak above the posted total. However, the game at New Orleans stayed well below the number, finishing with 179 combined points. That's not that surprising as the Hornets have seen the UNDER go 10-7 at home while the Sonics have seen the UNDER go 12-7 on the road. That includes a perfect 7-0 mark the last seven times that the Sonics played away from home. The Sonics failed to reach triple-digits in any of those games, averaging less than 84 points the last six of them. Helped out by the fact that the game went to OT, the Sonics come off a high-scoring game (at Seattle) vs. the Lakers. That's worth mentioning as we find the UNDER at 5-0 this season after they had scored 105 or more points and a profitable 13-3 after they had allowed 105 or more. The Hornets scored a minor upset vs. division rival Houston last time out, holding the Rockets to a mere 82 points. Not surprisingly, that game fell below the number by nearly 20 points. Note that the UNDER is 4-2 when the Hornets were coming off a SU win when listed as an underdog and a perfect 6-0 when they were coming off a game vs. an opponent from within their own division. Additionally, note that the UNDER is a highly profitable 14-4 the last 18 times that the Hornets played a home game with a total listed in the mid to high 190s. Including last month's result here, the UNDER is also now 4-0 the last four times the Hornets were a host in this series and 7-1 the last eight. I'm expecting another relatively low-scoring affair. *Total of the Week
