Play ON Boston Celtics (-) vs Atlanta @ 8:30 PM ET ? This one has ?mismatch? written all over it. As we get further into this series there might be one game where the Celtics get ?bored? or simply overlook their opponent (because it?s a Hawks team that went 37-45 in the regular season). However, in Game 1 there is absolutely no way the Celtics will come out flat or overlook Atlanta. This is especially true with this game being played in Boston. The Celtics want to get off to a quick start and come out and immediately show that they will be the dominant team in this series. They already won all three regular season meetings and the Hawks couldn?t stay within single digits of the Celtics in any one of those games! Now, it?s time for Boston to turn things up another notch and this is why a victory by not only double digits but 20+ points should be expected here. The Celtics are the top defensive team in the league and this is what will make things very difficult on the Hawks offense. Atlanta is more comfortable playing an up-tempo game where they can simply use their youth and athleticism to get out and run and go on streaks of quick scoring. However, the Celtics won?t allow for this, especially in their own building. Boston will force the Hawks to slow down into a half-court offense and that is something the Hawks struggle with. Conversely, the Celtics are led by a Big Three of Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, and Paul Pierce and these guys generally have no trouble putting the ball in the hole whether they?re running or playing in a half-court set. As bad as it is that a 37-45 team got into the playoffs, the news gets even worse. The Hawks finished up the regular season by losing four of their last five games! Not only that but every single one of the losses came by double digits. Yes, the Hawks have some decent talent but they are simply overmatched here and the Celtics can likely ?name the score? and that means this one should be decided by at least a twenty point margin. Boston wins in BIG EASY fashion!
