With a win today over Arizona, St. Louis can accomplish a couple of things. First, a victory will bring the Rams back to .500 for the season - 6-6 straight up. Also, this contest will be the final division game for St. Louis. With a "W", the Rams will end their season with a 3-3 SU record in the NFC West.
In case you haven't noticed, playing in the Edward Jones Dome is not an easy task. Since 1999, St. Louis has posted the NFL's second-best home record with a 45-16 SU record. Indianapolis is currently own the top spot with a sterling 46-16 SU mark. That spells bad news for head coach Dennis Green and the Cardinals.
Arizona hasn't traveled well at all and it's really not a secret. In their last 34 as a guest, the Redbirds are a dismal 3-31 SU and 9-25 ATS. Also, on the road matched up against an opponent that failed to cover as a favorite last, 'Zona is a shocking 5-33 SU and 10-28 ATS including a mind-boggling 1-24 SU and 5-20 ATS in this role matched up against an opponent that owns a won/loss percentage of .425 or better.
Rest assured, St. Louis will try to get RB Steven Jackson on track again. When the Rams rush for 100 yards or more, they are a sensational 40-1 SU in their last 41 games. Last week, Jackson rushed for 121 yards on 23 carries in the Rams 20-17 home win over San Francisco. It shouldn't be too hard for St. Louis to chew up yards on the ground against an Arizona rush defense that has allowed an average of 122.4 yards per game!
In the Dome coming off a division game, St. Louis has posted a remarkable 22-2 SU and 20-4 ATS record. Tie that up with the Rams 12-2 ATS mark in their last 14 after playing the 49ers and you have all the technical support needed to make this investment. Take ST. LOUIS.
