It sure looks easy to take Seattle here minus the points. Last year, the Seahawks represented the NFC in the Super Bowl and you just know Mike Holmgren's troops will be ready to defend their home turf. Seattle's home mark of 15-3 SU and 12-5-1 ATS is certianly respected but it won't be enough to keep me off Dallas in this contest.
In the Wildcard round of the NFL playoffs, underdogs or favorites of -7.5 or less are a dismal 10-29-2 ATS provided they beat the pointspread by nine points or more in their regular season finale. The Seahawks are stuck in this lousy "play against" situation. It should be noted that this system is actually on a shocking 5-23-2 ATS run including a horrendous 0-11-2 ATS provided its opponent checks in off a straight up loss. This perfect tightener fades Seattle too!
Dallas certainly isn't playing its best football of the season. The Cowboys are on a 1-3 SU and ATS run and enter off a pair of surprising home losses to Philadelphia and Detroit. Head coach Bill Parcells is one of the best when it comes to playoff runs and, off those two dismal performances, he'll have the 'Boys champing at the bit to steal this victory.
According to my NFL database, teams that enter the post season off two or more straight up losses are a profitable 17-8 ATS in their first playoff game. If our "play on" team faced a non-division foe last, this situation zips to a sweet 14-2 SU and ATS and stands a perfect 7-0 ATS if our side was favored last.
The Cowboys have cashed nine of their last 14 as an underdog and they have an excellent shot at pulling off this upset. Take Dallas. Thank you and best of luck, Tom Stryker.
