Sport: NFLPick Selection: Vikings
At 8:30 pm, our Monday Night Game of the Month is on the Minnesota Vikings minus the points over Chicago. These two teams are headed in opposite directions. Minnesota has won four straight and controls its own destiny in the Wild Card chase. Chicago has dropped three of four, with its only win a VERY fortunate overtime victory over Denver. And that was made possible only because return man Devin Hester scored brought back two kicks for touchdowns. These two teams met earlier this season, and Minny won 34-31 at Soldier Field. In that game, RB Adrian Peterson ran roughshod over the Bears for 224 yards, including TD romps of 67, 73, and 35 yards. That game was impressive, but the Vikings have really poured it on over their last three games, outscoring their foes 110-34, and this is the first time in the storied franchise's history they've won three straight games by 20+ points. Chicago has had a lot of injury problems this year, and now Kyle Orton will have to man the quarterback position after Rex Grossman injured his knee in the Bears' last game. Double digit road underdogs, with a losing record, are a poor 9-27 ATS off a SU loss of more than a TD in the last four weeks of the regular season, if they're matched up against a foe off a SU/ATS win. Take Minnesota to blow out the Bears. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie.
