NFL Pick

Sunday **82.4% Colts/Ravens Primetime Winner** - 12/9/2007 8:15:00 PM

  • Sport: NFL
  • Pick Selection: Indianapolis Colts -9 -105

  • Indianapolis Colts at Baltimore Ravens 8:15 PM ET

    Indianapolis Colts -9 -105

The aftermath of the Patriots loss is going to affect Baltimore not only in this game but most likely for the rest of the season. The Ravens are officially done as they have now lost six straight games and they left everything on the field Monday night both physically and emotionally. You might think that a team that gives an effort like that and now facing another top team in the league could recover quickly but that is not the case here. Baltimore finally covered a game but the streak ands at one.

The Colts escaped another closer than it should have been game against Jacksonville and it is becoming clearer that there is something going on with this team. The absence of Marvin Harrison has been big but the defense is what seems to be ailing this team. The Colts are allowing 298.3 ypg over their last three games but the good news is that they have given up only 16 ppg over that stretch. Facing a horrible offense that gave it all up last week is just what it needs.

The offense of Indianapolis is never going to be mistaken for mediocre but it did go through a small stretch of not being as potent as it once had been. Harrison had a lot to do with that and it was like a domino effect as it carries throughout the whole offense. Peyton Manning has passer ratings of 113 and 126.1 over his last two games after a very rough stretch so he is now finally getting comfortable without Harrison in the lineup. It is time for the offense to roll once again.

The Colts are 12-3 ATS after scoring 25 or more points in two straight games so once that offense does get roiling, it doesn?t stop. Baltimore has been a money burner all season, going 2-10 against the number and playing on a short week does not help. The Ravens are just 1-6 ATS in their last seven games coming off a short week. The Colts have owned this series with four straight wins and that was when Baltimore was a contender. That is not the case anymore as the Colts roll Sunday night. Play Indianapolis Colts 2 Units
